About Dotweave

Dotweave is a free connect-the-dots puzzle game. Each board has pairs of coloured dots. Drag from a dot and a glowing thread follows your finger through neighbouring cells to its twin. Threads never cross, drawing over another thread cuts it, and the level is woven when every pair is joined and every cell on the board is covered.

That last rule is where the puzzle lives. Joining the dots is easy; joining them so that no cell is left empty means planning which thread takes the long way round. Sixty boards climb from five-by-five with four pairs to ten-by-ten with fourteen, in six packs named Spool, Loom, Weave, Tapestry, Lattice and Mosaic.

Every board is built from a random path that visits all its cells, cut into coloured segments, so a full-cover solution always exists; the generator then scores boards by how much the threads wind and places them on a ramp. Finish with one thread per pair for three stars. Hints lay down a whole thread and cap you at two stars; Undo is free.

It is an original TabSpawn game drawn on a canvas with no framework: glowing threads, ripple and chime on each connection, and a light that travels along finished threads. Progress is saved in your browser; your player name and star total go to the shared Top 10.

How to play

  1. Drag from a dot to the dot of the same colour. The thread follows your finger through neighbouring cells.
  2. Threads cannot cross. Drawing over another thread cuts it; dragging back along your own thread unpicks it.
  3. Join every pair and cover every cell. The Filled counter shows how much of the board is covered.
  4. Finish with one thread per pair for three stars. Redrawing a thread counts as another thread.
  5. Use Hint (three per level) to lay down a complete thread from the solution. It caps you at two stars.

Tips

  • Start with dots in corners and along edges; their threads usually hug the border.
  • A short straight thread between near dots often leaves pockets. Send it the long way round instead.
  • Watch the Filled counter: if all pairs are joined but it is under 100%, one thread needs a detour.
