About Jugnu II

Jugnu II is a free online one-button flying game about a firefly whose glow is the only thing that shows you where the danger is. Your light fades in about ten seconds, hazards are visible only inside it, and gold stars are the only way to top it up. Violet false stars look inviting and drain you instead.

The run passes through five zones that cycle as you go: the Whispering Forest, the Marsh, the Cave, the Forgotten Ruins and the Storm. Each one brings its own hazards, including fans, vines, swinging lanterns, stalactites, webs across pillar gates, lightning with wind, and bats that attack in the dark but flee from your light.

Holding the button spends light on a dash that tears through webs and scatters bats. Sparks orbit you as shields and absorb up to three hits. Passing a hazard while dark pays a bonus, and a clean streak builds a combo multiplier. Your best score goes to a global Top 10 under a firefly name you can change at any time.

Jugnu is Urdu for firefly. The original Jugnu was a 2016 Unity project; this remake rebuilds it as a 3D WebGL browser game with adaptive resolution, so it runs on a Chromebook or a phone as well as a gaming laptop, with nothing to download.

How to play

  1. Open the game and press Play. A random firefly name is picked for you; tap the pencil to rename.
  2. Tap, click or press Space to flap. Short taps keep you level; longer gaps let you drop.
  3. Watch the light meter. When it gets low, aim for the next gold star and avoid violet wisps.
  4. Hold the button to light-dash through webs and bats. It costs light, so use it when a star is near.
  5. Collect sparks when they appear; each one absorbs one hit before it is gone.

Tips

  • Pass hazards in the dark on purpose once you know the pattern: the blind-pass bonus adds up.
  • Bats retreat from light, so a short dash before a bat cluster is cheaper than taking the hit.
  • The Storm is the hardest zone. Ride the wind rather than fighting it and keep a spark in reserve.
