About RetroDeck Live

RetroDeck Live is cloud gaming at living-room scale: a real PlayStation 1 runs on a server, the video and audio are streamed to your browser over WebRTC, and a second player takes the other controller from wherever they are. Nothing is installed on either machine.

Player 1 unlocks hosting with an email address and a 24-hour key, uploads a disc image and BIOS for the session, and starts the console. An invitation link, valid for fifteen minutes, gives Player 2 the second pad. Spectators can watch, queue for a seat and talk over room voice.

Because each room is a whole console, the number of rooms is small and hosting needs a key. That is why it sits in the lab section rather than the instant games. The player guide explains keys, uploads and the keyboard layout.

How to play

  1. Generate a 24-hour hosting key with your email, then unlock hosting with it.
  2. Upload a disc image and BIOS you own. They are used for this session only.
  3. Start the console and copy the invitation link for Player 2.
  4. Play with the keyboard layout from the guide or a connected gamepad; spectators join with the room link.

Tips

  • A wired network on both ends keeps input lag low; Wi-Fi works but can stutter.
  • Invitation links expire in fifteen minutes, so send one when your friend is ready.
  • Recordings are silent by design; use room voice for commentary.
