About RetroDeck Live PS2
RetroDeck Live PS2 does for the PlayStation 2 what RetroDeck Live does for the PS1: a real console runs on the server, PCSX2 renders it, the picture streams to your browser, and a friend takes the second pad from an invitation link. It runs one room at a time.
The difference is the library. Set a passphrase for your email and the discs and BIOS you upload stay with you between sessions instead of vanishing when the room closes, up to twelve items and eight gigabytes. Without a passphrase, uploads are session-only.
Formats include ISO, CHD, CSO, ZSO, BIN and ELF. Both analogue sticks are mapped to the keyboard and to gamepad axes. Heavy 3D titles may run below full speed on the current server, so expect lighter games to feel best.
How to play
- Generate a hosting key with your email and unlock hosting.
- Optionally set a library passphrase so your uploads are kept for next time.
- Upload or pick a disc image and BIOS, then start the console.
- Share the invitation link for Player 2. Sticks are on I J K L and T F G H by default.
Controls
| Arrow keys | D-pad |
|---|---|
| Z / X / A / S | Cross, Circle, Square, Triangle |
| I J K L and T F G H | Left and right analogue sticks |
| 3 / 4 | L3 / R3 |
Tips
- Use CHD or CSO images to keep uploads small; the library has an eight-gigabyte cap.
- Only one room runs at a time, so check the session counter before inviting friends.
- Sticks are digital on the keyboard; a gamepad gives proper analogue control.
